| I am going to post my Montreal Trip Diary~~
Day 1
We left Ithaca at around 10 am and 2 hours later, we arrived in Syracuse to take the plane to Newark, where we connect our flight to Montreal. Our connect flight got delayed an hour, so we finally got to Montreal at 5:30. The lines at immigration was verrry long, so it's around 6:30 when we finally got our baggage. Thanks to my two TTF friends - 浩浩 and 小修, they picked us up from the airport and drove us to our hostel - Le Maison du Patriote. It's a pretty homey looking hostel with 4-5 bedrooms and a kitchen and bathroom. After we dropped off our stuff, we went to a vegetarian restaurant, the place where 浩浩 part-time at. Although it's vegetarian food, they did taste like meat and the food was pretty impressive I think. Afterwards, we drove around downtown Montreal and drove up to Mount Royale, the high place in Montreal where we can see the whole downtown.

It's not a very good picture..but u get the idea. It's extremely windy and cold up there....
Then we went back to the hostel and ended our day......maybe. So this is what we did at midnight....
HWK!!!! sad i know... but yah. that's what we ended up doing at night...it's the kitchen table btw
These are some pictures of the hostel, not bad eh?
My room! with my name on it.

DAY 2
Because Ben had to finish his hwk which was due today and email it to his friend, we ended up going out at almost 2. We picked a nice crepe&fondue cafe on our street to have our lunch . There are so many restaurants on our street - St. Paul Street. I will take more pictures of our street tmr. It's a very nice and lively street.
Inside the restaurant and outside the window

After lunch, we walked around Old Montreal (which is just a few blocks away from our hostel).
It's very pretty, just too bad it's tooooo windy and cold....

 This is inside Notre-Dame.

After a tour around Old Montreal, we took the metro and arrived in downtown where there are a few shopping malls connected to each other. After browsing for awhile, Ben's friend Ivan picked us up and drove us around Mcgill University. If I didn't go to the states, it's possible that i'd have come to hereeeee.

Then, we went to the 2nd biggest church in the world (i think) - St. Joseph Cathedral.

Then it's dinnnnner time! We went to this nice French restuarant - La Convival. The restaurant is well decorated and the service was good. The food was decent too~ I had duck breast with cherry sauce for main course and a something...i forgot the name soup for appetizer, and Ben had some sorta deer meat for main course and foie gras for appetizer. His friend had oyster for appetizer and veal for main course.
After that, we drove to chinatown and the the area where there are many pubs to look around (there are many around my street too) and then went to this dessert place called Rockaberry. It's famous for its Apple Crumb. and it is very good, best apple crumb i had so far.
After that, it's time to go back to hostel~ Goodnight! | | |
| Since I am not using my own computer right now, I can only update on xanga. but wow. haven't use this for quite a loooong time. Things to Recap - TORONTO!! Toronto was funnnnnnn, esp when I get to see my wifey Venus <3 . We had such a good time just chilling and to chat about high school times. ah. high school times. I miss those days. The food in TO was also great. nothing in baltimore can be compared^^ of course, with Venus there, the food became more delicious hahhaa. okay, I should stop, else ppl will think we are les. lol. Now - Ithaca, In the middle of nowhere hmm.. what can i say haha. Its a nice little town with lots of treeeeeeees. but i have to say the food here is wayyyyyy better than the ones in baltimore... hopkins should build a college town. TMR~ Montreal and Quebec~~ Can't wait~~~ Hopefully the weather won't get toooo cold..... | | |
